RE: Oregon Cascades trip part 3

Really enjoyed the pics!! Wish there were a few more days of them to look at (but probably not as much as you wish you had a few more days up there to take them :( ). Gary

RE: Chevy K2500 & 2002 Lance 1130 Camper

Just found my '05 brochure. The 1130 is listed at 2900lbs. before options. The sticker on the rear of my 1130 says the weight of this camper is 3324lbs. with standard equipment. By the time you add the options,water(40gal.) and personal items along with you and any passengers, I would have to agree with the general concensus that a dually is needed. I would not want to carry mine on a 2500. Occasionally I wish that I had a 4500 or F450. One of the larger Lance dealers had a saying on their website about the 11 footers-"These are designed for dual wheeled vehicles, there are no modifications that can be made to a single wheeled vehicle that could make them safe to carry this camper" (or something along that line). Now if you add a hitch to the back and then pull a trailer, please post when you are going to be on the road-what routes you will be taking and the times you will be on them-so I can be sure not to be any ways near you! :B :B Seriously, the 1130 is a great TC and I'm sure you would enjoy it, but not on a 3/4 ton truck. RE: Chevy K2500 & 2002 Lance 1130 Camper

I have an '05 1130, last fall I weighed the truck and TC after a trip, it weighed about 11700 with most of the 'stuff' out of it, about 1/2 full fresh water-empty holding tanks. If you need any info on specs let me know what you need. I think I can find the brouchure. I wouldn't think there would be any difference between an '02 and an '05. You could PM me if you want-but I might not get right back to you-we're having a little trouble with the email that started today. Hopefully we'll get it straightened out in a little while. Gary

RE: Hershey Show

We're planning on leaving tomorrow night (Tue.) staying tuesday night at Flying J in Carlisle Pa. then hitting the golf course Wed. & Thur. night. Was hoping it would dry out by then. Forgot about the hurricanes. Anybody that's going look us up. Taking the truck camper this year, white chevy dually, Lance 1130 w/stable lift-should really stick out. Stop by and say "hey" or leave a note where you're parked. We usually stay in the show until it closes. Gary

Hershey RV show-anybody going?

Anybody going to the Hershey RV show this week? We're planning on spending Tuesday night at the Flying J at Carlisle Pa. then heading up to the show Wed. morning spending Wed. & Thur. night 'boondocking at the golf course across from the show. $20 a night for no hookups, but that's still cheaper than driving back to the truck stop every night(did that a couple years ago when diesel was a 'lot' cheaper-then they charged $40 a night for no hookups). Give a shout if you are-maybe we'll see you there. I have a white chevy dually, Lance 1130 w/stable lift-probably stick out like a sore thumb in the campground. Stop by in the evening and say "hey" or leave a note saying where you're at. Gary

RE: Diesel below $4.00

Headed for the Hershey Pa rv show tomorrow-checked Flying J at Carlilse Pa 3.95. Tickled pink, paid 4.04 last night. Anybody else headed for the RV show. We're going to stay Tuesday night at the Flying J then Wed. & Thur. boondocking at the golf course across from the show. Have a white chevy dually, Lance 1130 w/stable lift on it. Should stick out among all the class A's there. Stop by and say 'hey'. We should be back at the camper shortly after dark. Gary

RE: Stable Lift

I have a question on here concerning selling a TC with a stable lift on it, but so far no one has responded. One thing I think you have to look at is each stable lift is custom fitted for the TC that you have and the truck you are hauling it on. This meaning the height of your truck bed and where the saddles underneath your truck would go. I don't think this is a big problem. If the truck they were hauling it on is the same make as yours everything should fit ok. But if it is a different make, the saddles underneath your truck (which the bars on the stable lift fit into to hold it down)they would have to be put on and the correct height figured out. Mine are bolted to the frame and some welding was done also (installed by stable lift in Montana). Again this is doable. That's why I had the question on here to see if anyone had done it and what problems they had run into. Gary

RE: Extension cords???

i was told an all 4 of my walk throughs to never run my ac on just the 110 as there aren't enough amps to run i just bought a generator and the adapter cord for that i just figured it was cheaper than replacing a/c unit, now i can go anywhereI thought ACs only ran on 110. :h Maybe I'm about to learn something here.

RE: How small a TT can you find?,, How about one that is 8"

There are only a few options in the 8" category, one would think. This model below comes in at 10 inches though I think. http://www.latoys.com/playmobil/images/3236.jpg Sorry, couldn't resist. The trailer doesn't look too bad, however if that is you and your DW-you kind of look like robots, or something :h Sorry, I couldn't resist that either.

Selling TC with stable lift on it

Anybody here ever sell a TC with a stable lift on it. I was wondering how you set up the new vehicle to accomodate the SL. I think each one is set up for the model truck that is hauling it-Is it hard to change the saddles underneath the truck from one model to another? What other mods would have to be done? :h (moderator: this is not a post to sell mine-thinking of trading it in next summer and was wondering about this)

RE: Lance Dinette Cabinet Mod

Nice. On my Lance we just lowered the doors like we were going to use it for a bunk, put 5 plastic storage containers (about 14" x 30") up there and hooked the net up. Works great for us, but since I see your setup-well I'm trying to figure out how ambitious I am. Sure like it though. Gary

RE: New and Confused

I don't know how far along you are on your deal, but next week the RV show at Hershey Pa is going on(9/10-9/14). If you are close it may be worth your while to take a look there. They bill themselves as America's largest RV show, with nearly every major rv manufacturer there with many or all of their models on display. It's nice to have so many different models at one place to check out without having to drive all over the country from one dealer to the next. Their website is www.prvca.org then click on America's largest at top left of screen for more info-(I'd link it for you but I don't know how). We've been there the last 3yrs. hope to go this year too. Gary

RE: Trailer I can't find anything on the net

Try spacecraft mfg. They also make a bunkhouse like what I assume you are looking for. Just was looking at their website-there are pictures of it on there. Sorry I don't know how to link it to this site. Maybe someone else will. Gary

RE: TT suitable for full timing?

I have a 42 foot High Line... We live in it fulltime....Yeah, but is this just a dual axle, no tanks park model? Sure would be nice to have all that space while travelling, but I don't think it's quite made for over the road travel. (or is it) :h
